Question 1: How and why did you get into this business?

From a young age I loved saving and knowing I had babysitting money set aside if there was ever something I truly wanted. When I learned about time value of money and making your savings grow I knew that I wanted to apply that knowledge to help people have that same sense of empowerment and security.

Question 2: Why did you choose to come work for Balentine?

From the first interview the people and the culture jumped out to me as being unique. So many companies talk about the importance of culture, but you have to have employees that feel valued, heard, and challenged to really make the firm culture strong. When those things come together it is so much better for the clients and the teams ability to serve them.

Question 3: What do you like to do in your down time away from work?

My husband and I have a lot of our free time taken up by our toddler, but when we aren't chasing her around we love to travel and find great new restaurants. We recently took a trip to the Willamette Valley in Oregon and it has moved up our list of favorites for the great wine and weather! 

Question 4: Who were your heroes growing up and how did that influence your life and career?

My parents were definitely my heroes growing up. My dad was a college art professor for over 30 years and I learned from him the value in doing something you love while not being completely defined by your career. My mom had a more traditional 9-5 and was my role model of how to be a working mom, set priorities, and keep things moving along.
