How and why did you get into this business?
My father changed careers at forty years old and became a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley. He told me it was the most stressful, yet most rewarding career. This sparked my interest in the field, and after marrying and moving to El Paso, Texas in 2013, I approached Charles Schwab. I fell in love with the finance industry, and my attention to detail helped me excel in various operations roles. As my career advanced, I earned four financial licenses. I love being able to use my accuracy and problem-solving skills to make managing finances as easy as possible for all clients.
What was your biggest missed opportunity?
My biggest missed opportunity was not auditioning for American Idol. I love to sing and can usually wow the karaoke crowds, but unfortunately, American Idol has an age limit. I might have to try something else, like The Voice.
What do you like to do in your downtime away from work?
I have a bunch of hobbies. I love to sing karaoke and audition for films and voiceover opportunities (as much as I have time for). My husband and I are also on a few pool (billiards) leagues and are both motorcyclists. Even though we each have our own Harley Davidson, I ride with him more than I drive my own. I love to play golf and have been playing since I was barely old enough to hold a club, but only get to play about once a year now.
I am also a big-time animal lover with something of a savior complex. We already have four large breed dogs, but I’d still like to adopt when we find a three-legged puppy being given away for free. Ask me if I want to meet your pet and the answer will always be yes!
What do you personally think makes Balentine different?
I have worked with multiple advisory firms in my career, and I have never seen the personal service Balentine offers to every client. Every firm talks about being a fiduciary, and working in their clients’ best interests, but Balentine truly thrives on the relationships with their clients, not the accounts. Clients receive hands-on assistance from day one, with a team dedicated to making the transition as smooth as possible. Balentine is not concerned with being the biggest firm, but the best firm. And that means providing side-by-side partnerships to our clients and their families.
What keeps you awake at night?
Playing games on my phone or reading Harry Potter and having book club discussions in bed.
