Sanjiv Rai is the Director of Enterprise Technology and Innovation at Balentine. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the digital and technological experience at Balentine. As the firm strives to continually elevate the client experience, Sanjiv engineers the systems, platforms, and tools that power our operations. His scope spans custom software development, enterprise platform engineering, AI strategy, data integration, cybersecurity, and IT operations.
Sanjiv brings over a decade of technology leadership experience across creative, consulting, and enterprise environments. He will leverage his wealth of perspective and expertise to scale Balentine’s technical architecture as the firm continues to evolve its technology.
Sanjiv holds a BA from Georgia State University. He is an Apple Certified Mac Technician, Certified Wireless Technology Specialist, and FileMaker Certified Developer.

Why did you choose to come to work at Balentine?
After meeting the team and seeing their collective drive to innovate, I was hooked. This role has given me the opportunity to jump into a different industry with a ton of actionable data which makes me even more excited about Balentine.
What inspires you to come to work each day?
The opportunity to learn keeps me motivated. Technology changes and grows every single day and it feels almost impossible to keep up. However, I welcome that challenge. I also really enjoy finding creative ways to solve problems with or without technology.
How does your role fit in the big picture of serving clients?
My job is to lighten the technical load off of everyone associated to Balentine. If technology is not working for you, or with you, it is working against you. This also means it is working against our clients. As an RIA, our job is to put the client's needs over our own and if we are in disarray, that could impact the client. Whatever technical load I can lift off of our employees will allow us to serve our clients' needs more efficiently. I would also like to push towards a goal of creating something our clients find useful.
What is your favorite sport or activity?
I enjoy all types of competition. My family grew up playing Badminton and my brother even made it to the Olympics in the sport! I flipped and played basketball, and now I train JiuJitsu with my 5 year old daughter. Outside of that, I love playing board games and solving puzzles. I enjoy learning how to do contractor work on my house (I am rebuilding my stairs right now), and I enjoy hiking with my puppy.
If you weren't in this business, what would you be doing?
I would have been a teacher. I really enjoy figuring out how people learn, teaching them a concept based around their learning style, and then seeing how they apply this knowledge or skill.
