Why does Balentine exist?

To provide wealth management to individuals and families seeking a consistent process and exceptional client service.

What do you personally think makes Balentine different from other wealth management organizations?

What stands out to me is the people whom Balentine hires. We also have an impressive investment philosophy. After more than 20 years in the industry, I can say that Balentine is certainly different from the traditional wire house.

What inspires you to come to work each day?

Challenge and accomplishment.

How does the work you do make a difference?

I ask myself daily if I put in a good day’s work, if I was accurate, if I made things easier for someone, and if I met expectations. Sometimes, the measure of a good day is as simple as making someone smile.

Who were your heroes growing up and how did that influence your life and career?

I had two loving parents who gave my siblings and me a lot of room to explore. They encouraged us to have an opinion about everything (although there were times they wished they hadn’t!), stressed the importance of integrity, and taught us to treasure family. They were colorful, crazy, and wise.

What do you like to do in your down time away from work?

I like to entertain, explore Atlanta, tackle yard work, and cook gourmet meals.

Liz Smith is a Client Service Associate at Balentine. She brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the role. Liz began her career as a financial advisor at Raymond James & Associates in St. Petersburg, FL. She went on to join the Business Development team at Raymond James Financial Services, where she recruited advisors to the independent IRA channel. After relocating to Georgia in 2010, Liz was a senior registered client associate at Wells Fargo Advisors, where she received a 2014 recognition award for demonstrating the highest caliber of service and excellence to her clients and fellow employees.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Liz served as a radioperson for four years. Liz received her Associates Degree from Bergen Community College. She has continued her education throughout her career, having completed numerous training courses in the financial services industry. Liz also taught a continuing education course on Investment Clubs at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. Liz holds her Series 7, 66 and Life, Health and Variable Annuity licenses.
